Manufacturing Order Processing & Customer Support
We are looking to hire an experienced Order Processor & Customer Support to join our manufacturing client’s customer care team! This contract-to-hire role is ideal for an experienced customer service professional with a background in manufacturing order processing, logistics coordination, and B2B customer support who is looking for a long-term career.
Competitive pay of $22 - $25 per hour, based on experience in manufacturing customer service, SAP order management, and production coordination.
Responsibilities for this Order Processing Customer Support role:
- Provide exceptional B2B customer service via phone and email, assisting with order status updates, production timelines, and logistics coordination.
- Accurately enter, track, and manage customer orders in SAP.
- Work closely with production planning, shipping, and logistics teams to ensure seamless order fulfillment.
- Ensure prompt resolution of customer concerns with professionalism and efficiency.
- Answer and redirect incoming calls to the appropriate departments.
- Scan sales orders and supporting documentation into SAP.
- Support outside sales staff, including business region managers and independent representatives with pricing, order updates, and account management support.
- Collaborate with production and shipping teams to meet order fulfillment timelines.
- Maintain customer back-order lists and work closely with the inside sales team to ensure exceptional service.
- Actively participate in meetings, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements for this customer service role:
- Associate’s degree in Business Administration or equivalent work experience.
- 3 years of customer service / order processing experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing workflows, lead times, and inventory management.
- Proficiency in MS Office and ability to learn new software.
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics is strongly preferred.
- Experience entering and managing customer orders in SAP or similar ERP system.
- Ability to multitask and function efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Experience coordinating with production, warehouse, and logistics teams to meet customer expectations.
