What are the responsibilities and job description for the Delivery Driver/Warehouse position at A&R Medical Supply?
We are looking for a responsible Delivery Driver to distribute products promptly to our customers. You will represent our company in a professional and cost-effective manner to increase our profitability and customer satisfaction. The Delivery Technician is the face of the organization to our clientele and patient base in the field. This position also provides warehouse support to ensure inventory is clean, functional, readily available and that the warehouse itself is maintained within company standards.
Responsibilities
- Deliver Durable Medical Equipment to different addresses and through different routes.
- Instructs patients and caregivers on the usage and maintenance of their home medical equipment.
- Schedules and self-routes deliveries with patients and caregivers with timeliness and efficiency in mind
- Load, unload, prepare, inspect and operate a delivery vehicle
- Collect payments
- Transports equipment through inter-store transfers
- Provides warehouse support in the form of: stocking shelves, assisting in inventory procedures that maintain adequate stock levels, maintains the cleanliness and functionality of the warehouse, and cleans & tests equipment in the warehouse and in the field
- Complete logs and reports
- Follow DOT regulations and safety standards
- Answers phone calls and assist front desk csr and manager regarding deliveries and product maintenance
- Position requires computer work, must have basic computer knowledge. Candidate understands they are not "just a driver" but a valued member of the branch team with required office duties that include the completion of their assigned task and duties which entails computer based work.
- Other duties as required by management.
- Provides medically necessary equipment and supplies to patients while ensuring that they qualify for insurance coverage benefits.
- Company: A&R Medical Supply. Locally owned, NM based corporation
- Hours: Full-time, 40 plus hours per week (Monday thru Friday) with MANDATORY rotating on call after hours, including weekends and holidays. On-Call rotation work required (Safety Sensitive Position/ driving Company Vehicle).

- General Requirements Applicant must have the ability to drive safely and route multiple deliveries efficiently. Must be able to multitask and delineate tasks based on importance. Must have patience, compassion for the elderly, can communicate clearly & professionally, can operate basic computer functions, and can provide exceptional customer service. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs unassisted.
- Background Requirements: Must have a solid work history, clean & insurable driving record, clean urinalysis, acceptable background, minimum of 2 professional references who supervised or managed the applicant. Job Type: Full-time
Skills
- Proven working experience as a Delivery Driver
- Valid professional driver’s license
- Ability to operate forklifts and tractors in a variety of weather and traffic conditions
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Good driving record with no traffic violations
- High school degree
