Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods to various locations while ensuring timely and safe delivery. This role requires a strong understanding of schematics and mechanical knowledge, particularly in the areas of electrical systems and appliance repair. The Delivery Driver will also be expected to assemble and service appliances as needed, making this position essential for maintaining customer satisfaction.
Duties
- Safely operate a box truck to deliver appliances and other goods to designated locations.
- Load and unload products, ensuring proper handling to avoid damage.
- Assemble appliances on-site as required, following schematics and manufacturer instructions.
- Perform basic appliance repairs and maintenance during deliveries.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing any inquiries or concerns during delivery.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including tracking inventory and completion of service requests.
- Collaborate with the logistics team to optimize delivery routes and schedules.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Mechanical knowledge with experience in HVAC systems or electrical appliances is a plus.
- Previous experience as a service technician or in field service roles is highly desirable.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics related to electrical systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills for effective customer interaction.
- Ability to lift heavy items (up to 50 pounds) and perform physical tasks associated with delivery duties.
