Job Title: Buyer
Job Overview:
The Buyer manages the procurement of bulk supplies, providing batch orders for plant manufacturing operations to meet sales and market demand. The role requires working with the ERP based inventory system to maintain optimum levels of bulk, finished goods and consumables.
The position requires updating purchase orders, work orders, inventory levels and processing receipts and returns.

Essential Duties
· Manage day to day activity that includes but is not limited to, placing bulk purchase orders, running MRP reports and cutting batches as needed.
· Timely ordering and related activity to avoid product back-order
· Maintaining and organizing daily receipts and ensuring the price and quantity are entered correctly
· Updating prices and other inputs in Alpha as needed
· Updating daily batches an ensuring process was done to completion
· Work collectively with the receiving teams to ensure all products are entered correctly and damaged products are processed for return
· Set up new vendors and work collectively with the Product Setup Team to ensure all “new” products are entered and ready for production
· Manage stocking levels appropriately as directed by Alpha and alert Purchasing Manager of any changes, such as increase in sales or discontinuation of product
· Actively search for alternative sources on all out-of-stock items and request assistance from Purchasing Manager when needed
· Maintain a cordial relation with direct suppliers and wholesaler contacts
· Manage returns and disposals where product is unacceptable and manage the supplier on ASM’s terms.
· Participate and provide input on supplier score card management and update
· Resolve Account Manager questions, concerns, or needs quickly and effectively, keeping open lines of communication internally.
Qualifications
To perform the job successfully, an individual must have the following:
5 years of experience in procurement or supply chain organization.
Utilize a computer, email, MS Word, MS Excel and ERP system.
Must be able to work at a desk/in office for 8 hours per day.
May be required to lift items up to 25 lbs. on occasion
Must work on site at Libertyville, IL location

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
