Our Youth Empowerment and Healing Program fosters resilience and growth in young survivors of domestic violence through comprehensive support, empowering activities, and healing-focused initiatives.
Your role : Wraparound Case Manager / Counselor
As a Wraparound Case Manager / Counselor , you'll provide comprehensive services to youth survivors and those at high risk due to domestic violence, abuse, or trauma, ensuring they receive support across various life domains. Reporting to the Director of Youth Services, you'll collaborate with all A Safe Place programs to guarantee that youth within Waukegan Public Schools District 60 have access to necessary services.
What you’ll be doing :
- Evaluate client needs and develop tailored Custom Service and Safety Plans.
- Oversee plans that address each individual’s unique circumstances and challenges.
- Enhance access to essential services like education, housing, childcare, and healthcare.
- Promote equality and support client independence by connecting them to vital resources.
- Conduct sessions on healthy relationships, abuse cycles, and safety planning.
- Teach clients to recognize signs of domestic violence, harassment, or assault.
- Provide immediate, ongoing support for sexual violence victims, including education.
- Focus on prevention efforts, compassionate care, and fostering a supportive community.
- Educate parents on recognizing signs of abuse or assault in youth.
- Empower parents with tools to safeguard children and teens from harm.
- Share alcohol / drug safety, bystander intervention, and abuse prevention strategies.
- Promote a safer community by fostering awareness and proactive prevention practices.
- Raise awareness with resources, referrals, and education on abuse prevention.
- Conduct outreach and professional training to enhance protective factors and prevent harm.
- Partner with Waukegan Public Schools and other service providers for delivery.
- Ensure seamless, effective collaboration to meet client and community needs.
- Commit to supporting survivors and fostering a violence-free society.
- Engage clients authentically while maintaining clear boundaries.
- Demonstrate cultural competence and sensitivity to diverse backgrounds
- Align practices with professional ethics, such as the NASW Code of Ethics.
- Work effectively as part of the team; collaborating effectively across the organization.
- Actively participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and team activities.
- Perform other organizational and program-related duties as assigned.
- Complete IM CANS certification, 40-hour Domestic Violence, and other required training.
