What are the responsibilities and job description for the Product Engineer, CATIA V5 / CAD position at A Society Group, Inc.?
The Product Engineer focuses on designing and developing new or existing products, components, or assemblies including:
- Supporting the local production site and be the connection between production site and product development and vice versa in product/design related questions/issues.
- Establishing mock-up/pilots/test assemblies and coordinate the product change implementation on site.
- Coordinating process and product changes between mother plant and receiving plant.
- Applying engineering principles to develop products that meet customer technical/functional specifications as well as manufacturing cost/efficiency requirements
- Conducting mathematical modelling to determine if proposed designs are technically feasible
- Supporting and participating in the design, test, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototypes
- May also be involved with designing product specific manufacturing production processes and equipment.
- Lead level is a specialist in Product Engineering typically obtained through education and work experience.
Responsibilities typically include:
- Managing large projects or (end to end) processes with limited oversight from manager.
- Coaching, reviewing and delegating work to lower level professionals.
- Problems faced are difficult and often complex.
- 5 years or more relevant experience indesigning and developing products
- CATIA V5 / CREO or similar CAD knowledge
