Job Summary: The Educational Coordinator will assist in a variety of duties and tasks that support the effective functioning of the overall ASUA program. This position provides these duties in the building, community, or virtually as directed by the Education Director.
Certifications and Qualifications:
At least 5 years experience in the field of Special Education
Current (dated within a year) Act 34, 114, and 151 clearances
Essential Duties:
- Responsible for the daily schedule and ensuring all classrooms are properly staffed and supporting efficient and effective use of staff (RBTs, IAs, etc.)
- Scheduling observations, coverage, student teaching, ensuring clearances for teachers and teacher observations are in place, in coordination with the Operations Department.
- Designing, coordinating and providing direct oversight of the Extended School Year Program (ESY)
- Supporting the scheduling of IEP meetings and parent meetings
- Coordinating Professional Development for the school and individual staff
- Coordinating field trips
- Coordinating internal special visitors and classroom events
- Coordinating the ordering, distribution and set-up of curriculum materials
- Coordinating inclusion opportunities for students
- Coordinating educational technology needs/access, with assistance from the Operations Department
- Supporting the on-boarding program for all instructional staff
- Supporting the interview process including scheduling interviews, conducting first round interviews and following up with candidates.
- Supporting the education programming with contacting vendors, and arranging professional learning opportunities and other events, opportunities for staff.
- Substitute in classrooms as needed
- Field faculty/staff concerns to relay to administration, help to build and sustain positive morale, attend regular meetings with administration to stay up to date on policies, procedures and vision, and provide resources when appropriate.
- Travel between sites as needed.
- Duties can be performed in the building, community, or in other off-campus locations.

- To read and abide by the Employee Handbook including updates and changes.
- To attend all mandatory meetings, including those that fall outside of regularly scheduled school hours and as described in the Employee Handbook.

Physical Requirements:
Sitting, standing, lifting and carrying (up to 50 pounds), reaching, squatting, climbing stairs, kneeling, and moving light furniture may be required. Adequate vision and hearing ability for monitoring children’s verbal and non-verbal responses.
Safety and Health:
Knowledge of universal hygiene precautions.
Equipment/Material Handled:
The Educational Coordinator shall be assigned a variety of evaluation and consulting materials which are to be appropriately stored and accounted for. All media resources and borrowed material are to be judiciously used, and are to be maintained in a reasonably unsoiled and non- damaged fashion. Must know how to properly operate or be willing to learn to operate all multimedia equipment including current technology.
