Planner I

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for the daily planning and scheduling of all A-T Controls Inc. sales orders. This entails ensuring that all sales orders are reviewed against the customer purchase order for accuracy. This will require close coordination with inside sales, Cincinnati & Houston Production Managers, Machine Shop Manager, Purchasing Manager, Engineering and RMA manager. The incumbent will ensure open sales orders have all the required inventory, engineered drawings, machine shop raw materials, subcontract work and manpower to ship on the specified delivery date. If the specified delivery date can’t be met it will be the Production Planners’ duty to notify the appropriate salesperson of the conflict and estimated revised delivery date.

Key Accountabilities (includes, but not limited to the following)

• Reviews all sales orders in coordination with the customer purchase order to ensure the specified delivery date is met.
• Interfaces with inside sales staff to correct any discrepancies found in sales orders.
• Notifies Purchasing Manager by issuance of a material requisition form of any out-of-stock inventory items that are required to fulfill a customer order.
• Issues engineering design or drawing requests required.
• Issues work orders for any required machine shop work to meet required delivery date.
• Sends sales orders for inventory items not requiring assembly, engineering, or machining directly to the warehouse (pull & packs).
• Interfaces with Machine Shop Manager to ensure smooth shipment of outgoing orders.
• Make any necessary inventory adjustments in ERP to reflect discrepancies in actual inventory.
• Structure new part numbers and bill of material as requested by inside sales or as required to maximize existing inventory.
• Assists the Production Manager in coordinating any subcontract work necessary to keep open sales order on schedule.
• Perform calculations for determining raw material requirements (bar, plate, tube)
• Establish production priorities based on current demand and feedback from the Sales, Operations, and Supply Chain department.
• Monitor systematic exception reports to adjust job schedules and maintain optimal inventory levels.
• Work with Manufacturing Engineering group to review and revise component routers as necessary.
• Handles special projects and ad hoc reporting as designated.
• Any additional tasks or duties as requested by Planning Manager.

EXPERIENCE/SKILL SET/TRAINING:

• Bachelor’s degree in related field (preferred) or 3-5yrs related experience
• 3-5 years of work experience in a valve/actuation manufacturing shop
• 3-5 years of working with MRP software.
• Advanced training and experience in assembling, calibrating, and testing of ball valves, butterfly valves, pneumatic rotary actuators, controls accessories and electric rotary actuators.
• Familiar with lean manufacturing, just-in-time, and continuous improvement activities.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Advanced training and working knowledge of Microsoft D365 software (Preferred)
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
• Meet annual training requirements per A-T Controls ISO 9001: 2015 quality program.
