Description
A.T. Still University (ATSU)seeks a non-exempt human resource generalist for its Kirksville, MO campus. This position coordinates daily employment functions for the Missouri campus, ensuring compliance with EEOC regulations, state and federal labor laws, and ATSU policies and procedures. Responsibilities include maintaining scanned employee files, interacting with employees, department heads, and applicants, and handling initial phone and in-person inquiries for the department. The generalist will collaborate with the HR specialist to post jobs, advertise vacancies per the hiring manager's instructions, and conduct reference checks. Additionally, this role oversees onboarding for new employees at the Kirksville and St. Louis, MO campuses and CGHS employees, while maintaining confidentiality and ensuring timely processes.
Requirements
Main Job Duties
- Prepare and maintain change sheets for each pay period so Payroll department can balance.
- Process all requisitions for the MO campus.
- Process all status forms for the MO campus.
- Assure new employee paperwork and documentation is completed and appropriately prepared by meeting with each employee on or before the employee's first day of work.
- Assure accurate and timely submission of each new employee in the E-Verify system.
- Verify the ATSU application, CV, background screening, license verification, and official transcripts are on file when applicable, prior to extending offers.
- Serve as backup for management of the Human Resources department email account.
- Assure accurate and timely input of employee payroll information. Review, complete, and input incoming employee information prior to the second Tuesday of each pay period for hourly employees and prior to 5 days of the end of the month for salaried employees.
- Validate accurate input into computer system.
- Conduct reference checks upon request.
- Inactivate terminated employees from the payroll system.
- Assure all requisitions are approved with the appropriate signatures for job vacancies and they are posted for a minimum of 3 days.
- Work with hiring managers to provide access and knowledge of the pool of applicants in the HRIS
- Maintain ongoing applicant tracking status of applications and transfer requests, documenting distribution and action taken.
- Maintain accurate information for openings on the ATSU internal job posting, ATSU webpage, and with Job Service internet postings.
- In coordination with the HR specialist, place advertisements in local and national media as requested by the hiring manager.
- Keep other departments up to date on active employee listings.
- Confirms HRIS system has reported all new hires to the state of MO every 20 days and other states as required.
