Cable Technician Installer position. Contractor
Job Type: Full-time 1099 Contractor Installation Tech
Work Location: Multiple Locations
(Kansas-Dodge City and surrounding areas, up to 1-2hr travel)
Experience is preferred though not necessary: We will train. Technicians from the following skilled trades transition easily to our industry: Satellite, cable, data, HVAC, electrician, construction, plumbing, mechanic, etc.
Looking for installers with a positive attitude, good customer service skills, pride in workmanship, and willingness to learn and apply to the field.
Description for Cable Technician Installers
Cable technicians install, repair, and maintain residential cabling for fiber, wireless, satellite, internet, and television services. The duties of a cable technician include installing feeder lines that provide cable access to homes and businesses, laying ground cable, and setting up associated equipment for customers.
Responsibilities
Technical
- Install, disconnect, reconnect, troubleshoot cable and internet
- Use small hand tools, power tools, test equipment, and phone
- Complete paperwork accurately and records work order status updates
- Complete tasks within time frame
Customer Service
- Maintain courteous and professional interactions with customers in home
- Maintain courteous and professional interactions especially if responding to escalations and repeated customer concerns
- Review all requested services with customer to ensure understanding and confirm agreement
- Provide customer education regarding product and service usage
Qualifications
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Clean background check
- Must have a vehicle (Truck, Van, and most SUV’s recommended)
- Must be available to work 6 days a week, Saturdays are a must. (min.2 jobs per day)
- Ability to work in tight spaces such as a crawl space of a house.
- Skilled written and verbal communication
- Able to work in a fast-paced, time sensitive environment
Physical Requirements
- Overhead lifting, climbing and carrying ladders with a weight of up to 60 lbs.
- Work up to 28-feet above ground level
- Work in an enclosed space
- Work in inclement weather
- Must be able to walk, climb, kneel, and crouch
Pay
Beginner Technician: $1,400.00 per week
- Paid training is available.
Experienced Technician: $1,700.00 per week
