Position Overview
The Front of House Manager is responsible for overseeing daily dining operations, managing front-of-house staff, and ensuring outstanding customer service. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a passion for hospitality. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys creating memorable experiences for guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the front-of-house team, including servers, hosts, and bussers.
- Oversee the guest experience, ensuring excellent service, efficient table turns, and warm hospitality.
- Manage reservations and waitlists using Resy, ensuring smooth table assignments and seating.
- Handle guest inquiries, special requests, and service issues with professionalism and care.
- Monitor dining room flow, assisting with seating, expo, and table resets as needed.
- Train, mentor, and schedule FOH staff, fostering a positive and team-oriented work environment.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, food handling procedures, and company policies.
- Manage cash handling, including deposits, payouts, and tip distribution.
- Work closely with the kitchen team to coordinate service, communicate menu specials, and optimize efficiency.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and preparedness of the dining area and host stand.
- Assist in planning and executing special events, catering services, and seasonal menu changes.
Qualifications
- 2 years of restaurant management in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
- Exceptional customer service skills and a passion for hospitality.
- Experience with restaurant reservation systems (Resy preferred).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and problem-solve in real time.
- Availability to work weekends and peak service hours.
- ServSafe Certificate is a plus.
