A Taste of Excellence is seeking a dedicated and passionate Pastry Assistant to join our team! The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in baking, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Responsibilities Include:
- Assisting head pastry chef with production
- Preparing, mixing, baking, and decorating a variety of pastries, cakes, cookies, and other desserts
- Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes
- Maintaining a clean and organized work environment
- Working some weekend events and plating desserts
- Assist with inventory management, ensuring necessary products are stocked
Requirements
- Must have a minimum of 2 years experience in a bakery, pastry kitchen, or culinary school
- Knowledge of basic pastry and decorating techniques
- Must know basic measurements and cooking methods for desserts
- Strong attention to detail, presentation, and quality
- Flexibility to work weekends and varying shifts as needed
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
