Summary:

The Clinical Program Director is responsible for providing specialized individual and group therapies for those clients whose diagnosis includes the presence of mental health and substance use disorders. They are also responsible for conducting Chemical Dependency and Mental health Evaluations and working closely with other treatment team members to address the client’s substance and mental health Issues. Functions under the guidance of their licensure, registration and/or certification and in accordance with the regulations, rules, and requirements of the State of California and Federal government and accrediting organizations. Position is additionally responsible for overseeing the documentation of clinical services to ensure timeliness and compliance. They are responsible for both the IOP and the Residential Treatment Center.

Qualifications:

5 years’ experience with substance use disorders and/or mental health disorders, preferably in a residential treatment setting.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

Licensed behavioral health therapist strongly preferred. LMFT, LCSW, or similar qualification.

Other:

· Demonstrates knowledge of chemical dependency and addictions and utilizes knowledge and skills to access and meet the client’s treatment needs and requirements.

· Demonstrates knowledge of mental health and utilizes knowledge and skills to access and meet the client’s treatment needs and requirements.

· Provides groups as scheduled.

· Takes on an overflow case load, when needed.

· Works with the medical record auditing department to ensure client services are documented in a timely manner and are in compliance with State, The Joint Commission and Federal Regulations.

· Works with the Clinical Director and Executive Director in training therapists on overall clinical documentation.

· Provides individual Kipu training sessions with new and existing treatment team employees.

· Assists with the development and implementation of new documentation.

· Documents on a regular basis within the client chart.

· Audits client’s charts on a weekly basis.

· Facilitates team interaction for discharge planning regarding client issues and needs.

· Shares pertinent information with the treatment team as obtained from client, client’s family members, or significant others.

· Participates as a team member in all treatment team meetings and provides input regarding clients and chemical abuse and dependency and mental health treatment needs and requirements.

· Discusses with clients ’relapse warning signs and relapse prevention techniques and strategies and develops plans accordingly.

· Documents provided services in progress notes in a clear, concise, timely manner.

· Assist the client(s) in developing measurable chemical dependency and mental health related discharge goals and objectives.

· Provides pertinent client information based on chemical dependency and mental health evaluation, and group and individual session interactions, to assist in the client treatment process.

· Assists in developing treatment plans and treatment plan updates in collaboration with other treatment team members. Ensuring all treatment plans are updated bi-weekly to maintain compliance.

· Acts as a liaison to community agencies and referents.

· Knowledge of program policies and procedures.

· Be available for all tours if possible.

· Coordinate with the admissions director for incoming leads and clinically assess for the fit of the program.

· Review short hours for billing.

· Continues with educational courses and in-services training, per policies and procedures.

· Participates in obtaining the client’s informed consent for procedures, treatments, and research, as appropriate.

· Complete documentation for incoming clients to abide by insurance policies.

· Perform in a professional manner and role model a positive image of mental health.

· Knowledge of policies and procedures pertaining to attendance and punctuality.

· Reports to work as assigned.

· Understand and adhere to legal guidelines pertaining to client confidentiality and client rights.

· Maintains acceptable overall attendance.

· Perform duties independently, taking a proactive approach to problem situations, seeking supervision on an as needed basis.

· Attends in-services and educational training as necessary and as assigned.

· Seeks out learning experiences and incorporates new knowledge into practice.

· Report’s incidents, accidents, and occurrences in accordance with policies and procedures.

· Maintains safety of the physical environment.

· Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.

· Facilitate weekly clinical meetings to consult and conceptualize cases.

· Liaison between ed consultants and therapists to ensure weekly or bi-monthly updates are given.

· Carrying out quality control to ensure therapists are providing services that meet the standard of key.

· Conflict resolution with clients to maintain a strong community and morale.

· In constant communication with families to manage each client case and provide updates and progress reports

· Coordinate with families and housing staff for home visits.

· Provide approvals for home visits and parent trips.

· Coordinate with the clinical team to provide recommendations for discharge planning.

· Leadership to other therapists making sure their needs are being met.

· Placing therapists and clients to ensure the best clinical fit and playing towards their strengths.

· Communicate with psychiatrist and nurse to ensure the clients are being seen, frequency dependent on level of care.

· Oversee case managers to ensure treatment plans are updated every two weeks.

· Oversee therapists completing utilization reviews for their clients.

· Coordinates with billing for all insurance authorization to determine level of care.

· Manage quality and timing of utilization reviews and ensure clients are meeting requirements for insurance.

· Other duties as assigned.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
