We actively help keep kids safe by sponsoring local charity events throughout the Tampa Bay area, providing children with free bicycle helmets and other safety equipment.ABOUT THE POSITIONSUMMARY : A non-trial litigating attorney at MattLaw is responsible for preparing a case for trial and providing support as second or third chair during the trial. Heavy emphasis is placed on motion practice and discovery. This position is ideal for lawyers who excel at building cases but prefer not to present them in trial.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Work with clients and your team to seize every opportunity to improve the client’s case, including seeking punitive damages and conducting depositions. Your role involves diving deeply into the case elements and preserving all evidence to win at trial.EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED : Member of the Florida Bar in good standingMinimum of 5 years experience in civil litigationExcellent knowledge and understanding of Florida law and civil procedureStrong legal research skills with the ability to effectively interpret and apply Florida case law, statutes, and Florida Evidence CodeExceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft and review pleadingsAbility to effectively collaborate and work as part of a team, including coordinating with paralegals, support staff, and other attorneysStrong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneouslyDemonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in handling sensitive informationDeposition experience ranging from client preparation to deposing opposing expert witnessesExtensive understanding of Proposals for Settlements, Offers for Judgements, etc.Medical knowledge pertinent to personal injury litigationAbility to type at least 35 words per minuteEmbrace of computers and technology.#J-18808-Ljbffr
