A. W. Schutz, Inc. is actively seeking the right candidate for an entry-level PLC programmer position. This role provides support to senior-level programmers, working closely with them on tasks such as developing databases, interfacing between programming, engineering, and construction staff, setting up PCs and servers, assisting in testing, installations, and start-ups, and handling programming tasks for HMIs and PLCs.
The goal at AWS is to develop and elevate the selected candidate to a junior-level PLC programmer responsible for managing their own projects. AWS provides programming services throughout the U.S.
Qualifications:
- Detail-oriented and organized: These traits cannot be overemphasized. If you are currently not organized and/or details seem to elude you, this position is not for you.
- Communication Skills and Professionalism: The right person must have good verbal and excellent written skills. As this person grows, he or she will be interacting with our customers, becoming the face of AWS.
- Ability to learn: We will train the right person to become a very good PLC programmer; however, this person must be able to grasp, retain, and apply concepts that are presented to him or her.
- A quest and motivation to independently solve problems: Our business is to solve automation problems for our customers. Solving problems should be your passion as well.
- Strong computer skills.
- Some Electrical knowledge.
- Ability to travel: AWS travels to its customers throughout the US. On many occasions, AWS will be onsite for 12 days at a time. One should expect to travel 25 to 50 percent throughout the year.
