What are the responsibilities and job description for the Area Director position at A WORLD FOR CHILDREN?
Responsible for overall function of area office and foster care program
A. Responsible to ensure AWFC policies and procedures are being followed
1. Be knowledgeable about AWFC policies and procedures
2. Know Minimum Standards
3. Be familiar with YFT rules and indicators
4. Be familiar with Contract compliance issues
A. Maintain communication with staff and foster parents
1. Meet regularly with Case Managers to discuss policies and procedures, agency directives, and other business
2. Visit in foster homes regularly to ensure services are being provided, support is available and policies are being followed
3. Work as a team with all staff and foster families
4. Maintain regular communication with Administration
A. Keep accurate reports of data
1. Maintain records of pertinent information as requested by Corporate Office
2. Maintain personal schedule
3. Submit monthly report to State Wide Administrator by 5th of each month
A. Ensure all employees and contract staff are completing their duties
1. Review staff documentation for accuracy
2. Ensure staff are following policies and procedures
3. Supervise staff schedules to ensure accuracy
A. Network with DFPS, Juvenile Probation, and SSCC offices to communicate agency resources
1. Meet regularly with DFPS, Juvenile Probation, and SSCC to discuss placement opportunities in the area homes
2. Attend any networking meetings that pertain to AWFC business
A. Work effectively with prospective foster families
1. Conduct orientation for prospective families
2. Guide families through the verification process
3. Provide pre-service training
4. Visit homes to maintain open communication
5. Facilitate home study process
A. Attend all agency functions and staff meetings as determined necessary by Administration
1. Travel for staff meetings, training or other special events as deemed appropriate by supervisor
2. Serve as the team representative in interagency functions
A. Other duties as assigned by Program Administrator/CEO
IV. QUALIFICATIONS
A. Education and experience
1. Bachelor's degree required (Social Work, Psychology or Related Field); Master's Degree preferred
2. Must have experience working in Child Placing
3. Knowledge of Minimum Standards, YFT indicators and Contract standards
