What You Will Do:
- Excavate around buried utilities, traffic areas, tight spaces, and near buildings, while ensuring safety and compliance with regulations.
- Operate heavy equipment including backhoes, mini excavators, and skid steers to dig, grade, and compact earth, sand, gravel, and stone for plumbing repairs.
- Perform sewer repairs up to 7 feet deep (or more) using necessary shoring equipment.
- Work on trenchless sewer repair projects.
- Safely and efficiently operate machinery for excavation and grading.
- Maintain equipment cleanliness and ensure it's in optimal working condition.
- Follow and enforce all safety, environmental, and compliance standards on-site.
- Complete required paperwork and assist with additional duties as needed.
- Communicate effectively with plumbers, supervisors, drivers, crew members, and other team members to ensure smooth operations.
- Read and interpret measurements, plans, and blueprints as needed.
What You Will Bring:
- Proven experience in plumbing, particularly sewer repairs.
- Proficient in excavating and performing sewer repairs in deep trenches (7 feet or more).
- Skilled in excavating around buried utilities, tight spaces, traffic areas, and working near overhead wires and buildings.
- Expertise in operating backhoes, mini excavators, and skid steers.
- Strong knowledge of safety protocols and environmental requirements.
- Ability to read a tape measure and interpret measurements accurately.
- Comfortable pulling trailers with equipment when necessary.
