Job Summary
A-Z Restaurant Equipment Co. is looking to add a detailed, dependable and self-motivated team member to join our company. This candidate would be responsible for a variety of accounting tasks and support of the front office area.
The Accounts Payable Clerk at A-Z is responsible for the timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments to approved vendors. The Accounts Payable Clerk is accountable for maintaining the confidentiality of all communications, correspondence, reports, and records associated with these payments.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (comprehensive, but not limited to):
- Enter Accounts Payable invoices and credit memos timely and accurately
- Validate Purchase Orders, Bills of Lading, Packing Slips and Receiving Sheets
- Reconcile Invoices and expenses/costs
- Support month-end and year-end financial statement reporting and closing
- Enter and review bills, credit card statements
- Reconcile Vendor Statements
- Maintain general ledger and journal entries accurately
- Create and organize reports as requested
- Maintain and promote excellent, professional vendor relations
- Scan, file, and organize documents
- Receive and process incoming/outgoing mail (paper and electronic)
- Perform administrative, clerical, and interoffice support duties as requested
- Help with phone support
- Help with check out procedures at front counter
- Provide exceptional internal and external customer service
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Accounting degree or 2-5 years of recent general accounting experience
- Background in Peachtree is preferred and/or accounting software
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
- Able to meet deadlines, manage multiple projects and work independently
- Ability to deal sensitively with confidential information
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- A team player who collaborates between departments and works well with his/her coworkers
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Fluent typing and data entry skills
- Good listening and communication skills
