Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, execute, and close out environmental remediation and water treatment projects in accordance with environmental laws, client requirements, and safety protocols
- Supervise project teams, subcontractors, and field personnel during site investigations, remediation, and water treatment operations
- Prepare and communicate with field crews
- Estimate costs and levels of effort for new project proposals
- Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, work plans, and resource allocation
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations (e.g., EPA, RCRA, CERCLA, CWA)
- Prepare technical reports, site assessments, waste profiles, and permit applications
- Coordinate with project stakeholders, including environmental consultants, regulatory agencies, vendors, and landowners
- Review and approve project documentation including health & safety plans, sampling plans, and disposal manifests
- Oversee operation and maintenance of mobile and fixed water treatment systems
- Monitor environmental performance and sampling data to ensure treatment goals are achieved
- Identify and mitigate project risks and environmental liabilities
- Conduct field visits to monitor progress and quality assurance
- Report regularly on project status, milestones, and cost tracking to senior management
- A positive attitude
- Valid driver’s license
- Must live within 70 miles of our Kearneysville, WV headquarters
- Ability to travel up to 35% of the time
- Must be able to pass a background check and obtain secret security clearance for government contract projects
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
- OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in environmental remediation and/or water treatment project management
- Strong knowledge of remediation technologies (e.g., soil excavation, demolition, tank closure, groundwater treatment, in-situ chemical oxidation, pump & treat)
- Familiarity with water treatment methods such as filtration, chemical precipitation, and biological treatment
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or similar)
- Working knowledge of regulatory frameworks (EPA, OSHA, DOT, etc.)
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Ability to oversee multiple projects, field teams, and subcontractors simultaneously
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make informed decisions under pressure
- Professional Geologist (PG) license or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Experience managing federal, state, or military remediation projects
- Familiarity with GIS, AutoCAD, or environmental modeling software
