As an Apprentice Service Technician, you will learn from the best in the industry. Our team will train you on everything you need to know to thrive in your very own market. No previous experience with garage doors required, we got you!

The technician role is 100% commission. There is a clear path to a six figure income in the first year. There is NO CAP on commissions.

- You don’t like driving. Your company vehicle is your office, and you will spend quite a bit of time driving to customer’s homes
- You are not likely to follow what you were taught in class and apply it with gusto
- Travel to various service calls to meet customers in their residence and advise on repair, maintenance or purchase of a new door.
- Assemble mechanical components or machine parts.
- Adjust equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Order replacement parts.
- Repair or replace worn or broken door parts using hand tools.
- Disassemble equipment for maintenance or repair.
- Remove parts or components from equipment.
- Install hardware or other interior fixtures.
- Run wiring to connect equipment.
- Lubricate equipment to allow proper functioning.
- Test mechanical equipment to ensure its functioning properly.
- Document operational activities
- Collect payments for goods or services
- Be nice! I know, we shouldn’t have to say that, but we mean it.
- Able to bend, climb, kneel and stand for long periods
- Physically able to lift 75lbs
- Valid driver’s license for at least 3 years with a clean driving record
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test (not including THC) and criminal background check
- Knowledge of basic software such as navigation apps, Google etc as well as tablet and computer use.
- Basic knowledge of hand tools
- GED or HS diploma not required, however reading skills as well as basic math skills (measurements, payments) are required.
- Professional appearance
- Employment requires current eligibility to legally work in the United States
- Learn the ins and out of the job with our best technicians during apprenticeship.
- After a successful apprenticeship, you will receive $1,000 bonus and finish a 4 week training at the A1 Training Academy in Phoenix, AZ.
- A1 covers flights and accommodations for the duration of your training in Phoenix. (Also, all apprenticeship/training weeks are paid at $1,000/week)
- Once you complete training, you will receive an additional $1,000 bonus, and graduate to a junior technician. You will perform your duties as a technician in and around your market. Boom!
- Get your very own A1 wrapped van or truck with a gas card. Tools provided.
- Steady job flow with assigned dispatcher to keep you busy
- Medical, dental, vision, 401K, NOT a 1099 job

- Commission model: you design your own paycheck, no cap. Weekly pay.

- After we review your application, you will be contacted for an interview with a recruiter if we want to know more. Plan on up to 45 minutes.
- Next step is an onsite interview with the Hiring Manager. Plan on approximately 60 minutes.
- Last step is when the fun begins: you will be invited to ride along with one of our technicians so you can see what life at A1 is really like. Plan on a full day.
