Position: Sr. HR Generalist

A123 Systems, LLC is a leading developer and manufacturer of lithium-ion batteries and battery systems for the transportation and commercial markets.
Position Overview
Reporting to the HR Director, the Senior HR Generalist will play a key role in supporting and executing various human resources functions. This position will focus on talent acquisition, benefits and leave administration, payroll oversight, employee relations, performance management, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong HR background, attention to detail, and the ability to navigate complex HR processes while fostering a positive workplace culture.
Responsibilities
- Support talent acquisition efforts, including job postings, screening, interviewing, and onboarding.
- Administer and manage employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, FSA, HSA, COBRA, and 401(k).
- Oversee leave-of-absence processes, including FMLA, PFML, ADA, and Workers’ Compensation, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Manage payroll processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely updates for new hires, terminations, promotions, and benefits deductions.
- Drive performance management initiatives, including goal setting, coaching, appraisals.
- Foster employee engagement by supporting initiatives that enhance workplace culture and retention.
- Serve as a trusted resource for employees and managers, providing guidance on HR policies, benefits, and compliance-related matters.
- Assist with immigration processes, including visa applications and PERM recruitment.
- Maintain HR records, reporting, and compliance with employment laws and company policies.
- Support special HR projects and initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 8 years of progressive HR experience, with a focus on talent acquisition, benefits administration, payroll, and compliance.
- Strong knowledge of HR principles, employment laws, and best practices.
- Experience with HRIS systems and payroll software.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
