We are an established and growing retail eyewear office that is seeking a dedicated and skilled Optometrist to join our team either as an employee or business partner.. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive eye care services, including vision examinations, diagnosis, and treatment of various ocular conditions. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough eye examinations to assess vision and detect eye diseases.
- Provide appropriate prescriptions for glasses and contact lenses based on patient needs.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of patient interactions.
- Educate patients on proper eye care, including the use of optical products and preventive measures.
- Collaborate with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals for comprehensive patient management.
- Stay updated on advancements in optometry practices and technologies.
- Assist in the training of support staff regarding optical systems and patient care protocols.
- Engage in sales activities related to optical products, ensuring patients receive the best options for their needs.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution.
- Valid state optometry license with no disciplinary actions.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and ophthalmology principles.
- Experience with medical records management and coding is preferred.
- Ability to provide exceptional patient care with a focus on pediatrics when necessary.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and staff.
- Previous experience in sales within an optical setting is a plus.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems is desirable.
