Job Location: El, Mirage, AZ
Job Schedule: Monday - Friday,
2nd shift - 3.30pm-2am
(OT on Saturday's likely)
A2Z Staffing is currently hiring qualified candidates to manufacture stainless steel duct systems for our client in El Mirage, AZ.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under close supervision you'll be introduced to a series of duties and responsibilities with increasing complexity to include, but are not limited to the following:
- Work under the supervision of the Quality Assurance Manager.
- Perform fit-up/ dimensional inspections to verify compliance to shop drawings.
- Monitor welding operations for compliance with codes and company welding procedures.
- Perform 100% visual weld inspection for weld quality, size, and location.
- Monitor surface preparation and coating application. Perform paint inspections to verify quality and dry film thickness.
- Accurately document all performed inspections.
- Communicate with shop supervision on any noncompliant items found.
Requirements
Qualifications
- 5 years’ experience in structural steel fabrication.
- High School Diploma or GED (preferred).
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to read and interpret structural steel blueprints.
- Proficiency with basic hand tools and measuring equipment.
- Experience with GMAW welding process.
- Proficient in fitting steel.
- Knowledgeable in all aspects of steel fabrication with an emphasis on process improvement and efficiency.
- Ability to effectively train fitters and welders.
- Strong management skills.
- Strong knowledge of QC requirements for structural steel.
- Expert in print reading and detail, specifications and general notes interpretation.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to stand, bend and walk for 8 to 10 hours.
- Must be able to wear steel toe boots
- Must be able to work in a loud environment
