Cybersecurity IT Operations Specialist

A3 Technology, Inc. is seeking a Cybersecurity IT Operations Specialist to join our Cybersecurity group.  The Cybersecurity IT Operations Specialist will support the cybersecurity system Program Offices and Cybersecurity Operational team with documentation management, information assurance and security compliance.   

This position is 100% onsite.

Responsibilities:

• Establish/maintain procedures with system Program Offices (PO) to ensure awareness of all system changes being proposed. 
• Assess system configuration changes for impact on security posture. 
• Integrate system changes into the security Authorization process. 
• Maintain system security Authorization information in the Security Management Assessment and Reporting Tool (SMART). 
• Support the establishment and maintenance of Cybersecurity processes and documentation. 
• Support and track funding reviews, briefings, meetings and planning. 
• Verify Cybersecurity Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) remediation and track all associated Cybersecurity remediation funding obtained under this effort. 
• Ensure that privacy documentation delivery meets established schedules and/or deadlines. 
• Assist in the tracking of all privacy documentation submittal to the Privacy office and report any potential delay in the adjudication of the documents. 
• Ensure that SSO and SOs are appraised of status of ongoing privacy actions and sensitive/controversial issues as they arise. 
• Review for completeness and accuracy of all audit responses and if required communicates/collaborates with SSO and SO to ensure responses are complete. 
• Support the Cybersecurity Engineering Manager on Program functions ensuring that identified tasks are performed efficiently, accurately, on time and in compliance with the requirements. 
• Support the preparation, review, analysis and recommendation of Authority to Operate briefings, memos and plans. 
• Prepare briefings and white papers in support of executive management or team presentations on program status covering all related initiatives to management or other work groups that may be supporting Cybersecurity activities. 
• Combine technical knowledge of systems and cybersecurity expertise to tactically apply information security/information assurance principles to review planned changes to systems to determine potential system security posture impact, ensure timely identification and reporting of planned system changes with potential cybersecurity impact and support Cyber Operations activity. 
• Work closely with the Enterprise Architecture and Cybersecurity Engineering Solutions team in development and review of cybersecurity requirements and policy, enterprise solutions and in the handoff of prototype solutions into the operational environment. 
• Define and maintain the set of security requirements to be implemented in systems based on, but not limited to, the following: Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) Publication 199, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) 800-53, NIST 800-60, agency policy, Executive Orders and OMB mandates. 
• Review, evaluate and make recommendations on Systems Security Authorization documents (Security Assessment Reports, System Security Plans, System Contingency Plans, System Characterization Documents) to determine if risk is accurately portrayed and/or assessed. 

Skills Required:

• Experience writing and maintaining deliverables according to a prescribed schedule.
• Experience updating online systems with document revisions.
• Experience writing IT security documents such as Security Assessment Reports, etc.
• Experience defining IT security requirements using national standards.
• Experience tracking security audit findings.
• Experience writing reports and presentations for audiences at variable technical levels. 
• Experience with federal IT security rulesets such as NIST.
• Excellent written and communication skills. 
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated to take ownership of projects. 
  
  

Skills Preferred:

• Certificate in a program management area (e.g. PMP). 
• Certificate in an IT security area (e.g. CISSP, CISM). 
  Experience working with a large organization (>35,000 customers).
• Experience collaborating with peer and client teams. 

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in any field and 15 years of IT program management experience.

Additionally, US Citizenship or documented proof of eligibility to work in the US is a must. Upon receiving a conditional offer of employment, candidates will undergo a Government investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for Government clearance. Verification of past employment, education and references is also required. It is imperative that candidates be either a US citizen or a current green card holder with the last 3 consecutive years as a resident of the US.
