Description
The Business Development Manager is responsible for revenue growth of DT Engineering’s Automation, Tooling, and Services businesses within the assigned territory and targeted industries (examples of targeted industries include, but are not limited to, Cosmetics, Life Sciences - Pharmaceutical, Medical Devices, Consumer Package Goods - Food & Personal Care). This role serves as a primary customer-facing role within the company in a high-tech sector and is also responsible for generating and maintaining revenue-producing customer relationships.
Major Duties & Responsibilities

- Meets or exceeds quarterly and annual order rates aligned with revenue targets provided by the Business Development Leadership.
- Develops and implements annual sales growth strategies that will meet or exceed order rates aligned with revenue targets. Strategy will be approved by Business Development Leadership and reviewed quarterly for adjustments.
- Manages sales opportunities following the current sales continuum process, supports the applications engineering processes when applicable, and provides weekly updates to Business Development Leadership on actions and opportunity progress.
- Demonstrates accuracy in forecasted orders documented on the quarterly forecast worksheet.
- Prioritizes time commitments with key business prospects that align best with DT Engineering’s revenue targets and financial health.
- Exercises due diligence in understanding company financials to ensure sales opportunities are profitable to the organization.
- Establishes and maintains relationships with target industry influencers and key strategic partners.
- Monitor’s competitor products, sales and marketing activities on a regular basis and reports findings to Business Development Leadership for review and guidance.
- Represents company at trade shows as required.
- Establishes good internal working relationships with marketing, engineering, applications, and operations / project management.
- Adheres to expense budget requirements set forth by the Business Development Leadership.
- Regularly reviews and analyzes order rate performance against revenue targets, and sales growth strategies to determine effectiveness alongside Business Development Leadership.
- Institute’s documentation diligence (accuracy) when populating and storing key documents.
- Contributes to overall company business strategies as required.
- Conducts technical audits of potential customers’ existing automation systems or automation needs and is able to provide possible automation solutions in real time to customers during site visits.
- Visits new or existing customers to establish or maintain customer relationships in an effort to generate new business while simultaneously offering value-add solutions to customers.
- Documents and relays information found on customer site visits back to Business Development Leadership and helps jointly develop and maintain sales strategies aimed at securing opportunities that best fit the company’s needs.
- Reviewing customer’s corporate guidance and align it with specific customer strategies.
- Contribute to concept development and brainstorming efforts for strategic opportunities when applicable.
- Contributes to the proposal writing / editing processes for key opportunities as required.
- Support Business Development Leadership in improving sales / apps processes, documentation, and quoting tools as required.
- Regularly maintains company customer database entries and keeps contact information updated for key customers and new customer entries generated as part of sales strategy.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment, as well as a shop setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, fax, and 3D printing machines.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to a shop environment including exposure to odors, fumes, dust, or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.

Travel
Travel is required to DT Engineering sites, customer sites, and various trade shows. Travel includes out-of-the-area and overnight travel, inclusive of out of country.
This is a full-time position, 40 hours per work week, with flexibility on start / end time. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
