Summary:
The Hose Assembly Technician, reporting to the Production and Warehouse Manager, is responsible for gathering appropriate components and assembling hoses to fulfill the order. This technician can assemble all of the different hose types. This position will also perform off site hose certifications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare work to be accomplished by gathering parts, subassemblies, tools and materials.
- Assemble components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies.
- Verify specifications by measuring completed component.
- Resolve assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources, and/or altering components on work order/pick ticket.
- Asset entry and tagging of hoses into InfoChip.
- Grounding and determining continuity of hose assemblies.
- Installation of spiral/bolt clamps using torque wrench.
- Off site hose testing and being able to read InfoChip using hand held reader.
- Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education/Skills/Experience
Required:
- Valid driver’s license with a record that allows you to be covered by company insurance.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to complete work accurately and in a timely manner.
- Ability to adapt to changing work order.
- Ability to prioritize responsibilities.
- Self-driven and strong sense of urgency.
Preferred:
- Previous assembly experience.
- NAHAD Industrial, Hydraulic, Composite, and Fluorpolymer Hose Certification.
- Advanced P21 comprehension and abilities.
- Able to operate sit down and reach fork trucks.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 50-75 lbs.
- Ability to stand or walk most of the day.
- Ability to twist and turn at least 25% of day.
- Stoop and bend at least 25% of day.
- Ability to reach above shoulders at least 25% of day.
- Repetitive hand and wrist movements at least 50% of the day.
- Forearm rotation at least 25%of the day.
