AA FLUID POWER FIELD SERVICE TECH POSITION
DESCRIPTION
SCOPE: Reports to Field Service Dispatch; Responsible for field repairs and preventative maintenance of industrial machinery. Applicant must maintain a clean and operational service vehicle. Applicant must also maintain documentation of all repairs and materials for each service call. Between service calls responsible for the daily operations of tear down and assembly, write up, analyzing, and repair of hydraulic components as well as general Millwright work. Must be reliable and trustworthy with good work ethics. Able to work with little or no supervision.
QUALIFICATION:
- Minimum two years verifiable mechanical experience preferably in the hydraulic field.
- Works well with others
- Good work history.
- Good understanding of electrical systems and controls
- Self motivated, needs little or no direct supervision
- Good safety record and awareness (OSHA 8 Hour Course Recommended)
- Willing to work when needed with little or no advance notification (occasional nights and weekends)
- Demonstrates ability to read/interpret blueprints and schematics.
- Physically fit, able to drive or stand for 4 hours and lift 75 lbs
- Ability to stick weld
- Class A CDL Preferred
- 2 or 4 Year College Degree Preferred
KEY EXPECTED RESULTS:

- Can properly tear down, measure and write up components
- Follows procedures set forth by management
- Owns own tools and knows how to use them
- Properly uses specialty tools owned by AAFPS
- Knows and understands the correct tolerances for components.
- Can properly build and test components.

- Willing to teach others how to do the job right.
- Demonstrates the ability to read/understand blue prints and drawings.
- Adheres to all applicable and required safety standards and procedures
- Works as helper in field service with experienced Technician as required
- Works independently in the field as required
- Works in the shop in-between field service appointments under direction of Shop Foreman
- Military service history or Military Veteran status a plus
The Technician is responsible for performing a host of jobs involving servicing and repair of Industrial machinery including but not limited to Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems and components of mobile and stationary machinery. These service appointments could take place anywhere from a grocery store to an underground coal mine to a steel mill. The Technician will be expected to work both independently and on a team. Technician will receive extensive on-the-job and classroom training. The Technician will demonstrate initiative, commitment to teamwork, enthusiasm for customer service, and dedication to finding solutions in an efficient manner.
SERVICE AREA:
State-wide in Alabama, Tennessee, Mississippi, and Georgia. Also panhandle of Florida. Travel will be planned as far ahead of time as possible and overnight trips will be roughly 10% of the trips.

Pay: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
