Logistics Import Specialist Job Summary:
The Logistics Import Specialist role will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient movement of our metal products across international borders. Responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks related to logistics, shipping, and compliance. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to optimize our supply chain processes and ensure the timely delivery of our products to customers.

Logistics Import Specialist Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage the international shipment of metal products from several global origins.
- Coordinate shipping instructions and work with carriers, freight forwarders, and set shipping methods based on cost, speed, and product requirements.
- Prepare and review shipping documentation, including invoices and certificates of origin.
- Facilitate smooth clearance of shipments through customs.
- Work closely with purchasing and sales management teams to ensure the delivery of products at various locations.
- Work closely with international suppliers and vendors to coordinate shipments and resolve logistics-related issues.
- Monitor shipping terms and contracts to optimize cost-effectiveness.
- Analyze logistics costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
- Assist in preparing logistics budgets and tracking expenses.
- Identify potential logistics-related risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate them.
- Implement best practices and process improvements to enhance the efficiency and reliability of international logistics operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements.
Logistics Import Specialist Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field.
- Experience in international logistics and supply chain, preferably in the metals or manufacturing industry.
- Proficiency in using logistics software and tools.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing logistics challenges.
