QHSE/Compliance Specialist Position Overview:
The QHSE/Compliance Specialist will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring compliance with Environmental Protection regulations, OSHA safety standards, and ISO quality standards. This role requires a strong understanding of industry regulations and the ability to implement, monitor, and improve systems for maintaining compliance across various departments at Chance Aluminum. QHSE/Compliance Specialist Key Responsibilities:
- Regulatory Compliance & Monitoring:
- Oversee and ensure adherence to Environmental Protection regulations, OSHA safety standards, and ISO compliance.
- Monitor, review, and implement internal policies and procedures to ensure alignment with current regulations and industry best practices.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory bodies related to environmental, safety, and quality standards.
- Health and Safety:
- Conduct regular safety audits and assessments to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Develop, review, and enforce safety policies and procedures to ensure the safety of employees and operations.
- Coordinate and lead safety training programs and ensure proper documentation of safety procedures and records.
- Environmental Protection:
- Ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations, focusing on waste management, water and air quality, and energy use.
- Track environmental data and prepare reports for regulatory bodies and management.
- Collaborate with relevant departments to promote sustainability initiatives within the organization.
- ISO & Quality Assurance:
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards related to quality and environmental management systems.
- Lead efforts for ISO certification, audits, and recertifications.
- Collaborate with management teams to integrate QHSE protocols into the broader quality management system.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain up-to-date records of safety inspections, training sessions, incident reports, and compliance audits.
- Prepare and submit reports to regulatory agencies, management, and corporate headquarters as required.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvement within QHSE compliance and lead initiatives to enhance safety, environmental, and quality management systems.
- Provide recommendations for improving risk management strategies and procedures to reduce workplace accidents and environmental impact.
QHSE/Compliance Specialist Qualifications:
- Education:
- A Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Safety Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Certifications in OSHA, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, or similar compliance/quality management standards are highly desirable.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a QHSE or Compliance-related role within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Proven experience with environmental regulations, OSHA safety standards, and ISO compliance.
- Familiarity with regulatory agencies and the preparation of documentation and reports required for compliance.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of Environmental Protection, OSHA regulations, and ISO standards.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse teams and regulatory authorities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and QHSE compliance software/tools.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
QHSE/Compliance Specialist Physical Requirements:
- Ability to conduct on-site inspections, walk through production areas, and evaluate safety hazards.
- Occasional lifting and movement of materials or equipment related to compliance tasks.
