Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and meal preparation.
- Monitor patients' health by observing their physical and emotional well-being, reporting any changes to the supervising nurse or healthcare provider.
- Provide companionship and engage clients in social activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
- Support residents in maintaining their independence while ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Uphold resident rights by advocating for their needs and preferences in all aspects of care.
- Assist with medication reminders and ensure adherence to prescribed health plans.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the living environment to promote a healthy atmosphere.
- Document patient observations accurately to ensure continuity of care among team members.
Requirements
- Previous experience in personal care assistance or related fields such as social work or direct support is preferred.
- Knowledge of memory care techniques, patient monitoring, patient observation, and dementia care practices is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a group home setting.
- Must be able to pass background checks as required by state regulations.
- Certification in CPR/First Aid is a plus but not mandatory at the time of hire; training will be provided.
