AAA Club Alliance (ACA) is hiring for a Strategic Sourcing Manager to join our team!
Position Summary:
The Manager will build an effective procurement/sourcing team supporting ACA's various lines of business. This position will develop the ongoing strategy for the sourcing organization within ACA; lead sourcing projects across multiple commodity groups; IT equipment and software, Office equipment, Office supplies, Automotive, Travel & Insurance products; and will lead large RFPs from supplier selection & bidding process through contract award. This position will lead a team to support business unit requests for the purchase of goods and services for the organization and to ensure that items and services purchased from specified suppliers are delivered according to agreed terms and conditions.

What You'll Do:
- Oversee a team that assists internal customers in procurement of goods and services by working with them to identify their requirements and specifications that may include acquiring knowledge of internal customer operations or tasks in order to research/offer products and/or solutions that can be integrated with purchasing activities.
- Perform market analysis, benchmark analysis, and spend analysis for assigned category projects.
- Manage supplier relationships and contract negotiations. Identify suppliers capable of meeting product and service requirements using existing supplier relationships where possible.
- Develop purchasing strategies for the organization at the commodity level, supplier level, and individual transactions levels.
- Source and select suppliers, negotiate contract terms, SLA’s and prices.
- Manage suppliers’ relationships: SLA, quality issues, risks, complaints etc.
- Make recommendations to management regarding the appropriate procurement vehicle that will minimize organizational risk.
- Establish team metrics and utilize data and reports to analyze opportunities for efficiencies and item pricing.
- Coordinate with internal and external customers to maintain effective working relationships and build partnerships.
- Identify new B2B eCommerce solutions and collaborate with teams to develop and implement.
- Develop methods and procedures for vendor performance management, such as scorecards, site visits, and dispute resolution. Assist in the development and monitoring of Procurement/Sourcing KPI’s and metrics.
- Develop annual plan to gain additional knowledge in areas of Automotive, Travel, Merchandising, Human Resources, Marketing, Insurance, and Procurement Service functions.
- Conduct vendor evaluations and identify preferred vendors with input from other AAA National, business line end users, and Supply Chain services.
- Review and audit all requests for purchase that they are complete and accurate. Process necessary purchase order requests that have proper authorization and documentation.
- Interview vendors to obtain product or service information such as contract terms, price, availability, and delivery schedule. Qualify, select, and/or approve competitive suppliers and negotiate purchasing contacts with favorable terms and discounts.
- Prepare requests for competitive bids, quotations, and proposals with pertinent specifications, terms, and conditions.
- Secure and analyze price quotations. Review quotations with ordering business unit as needed and award bids for materials, equipment, or service by issuing purchase orders. Oversee delivery and/or installation as required. Verify and document completeness and timeliness of all hardware/software shipments.
- Remain current on trends and conditions that may affect availability and/or cost of materials, equipment or services used.
- Complete special projects and assignments and assists throughout the department needed to ensure a smooth-flowing operations.
- Support the implementation, development, and maintenance of Coupa.
- Other duties as assigned.
What You'll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree; significant experience in procurement and supply chain may be considered in lieu of degree.
- 6 - 7 years of Direct/Indirect procurement experience, purchasing, e-procurement tools, information gathering, analysis, and reporting activities related to global sourcing, quality systems and supply chain management; 3 years of progressively more responsible management experience.
- Coupa experience a plus
- CPSM designation is a plus
- Formal process improvement training a plus (Six Sigma)
- Excellent negotiation, analytical and problem solving skills.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to enable prompt and accurate completion of assignments and constructive interaction with associates and vendors.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment while maintaining focus.
- Skilled in prioritizing and adapting to new projects throughout the day with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- In-depth experience with vendor contracts, purchases and support.
- Ability to create correspondence, memos, and reports using procurement and other software programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel, etc. with a high degree of proficiency.
- Ability to interact will all levels of associates and build collaborative relationships. Must have a collaborative style and an ability to persuade, motivate in all directions within the organization – to sell up, to motivate down and to cross sell to peers is essential to success.
- Working knowledge of the area of expertise with ability to cross train others.
