Responsibilities:
- Design and Development:
- Lead the design and development of mechanical systems and components using CAD software.
- Conduct feasibility studies, simulations, and testing to validate designs.
- Provide detailing oversight to engineering team to ensure design and print quality.
- Project Management:
- Oversee engineering projects from concept to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Develop project plans, allocate resources, and monitor progress.
- Technical Expertise:
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex engineering issues.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with other engineering disciplines, product/program management, manufacturing teams, and customer representatives to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand requirements and provide updates.
- Documentation and Compliance:
- Prepare and maintain detailed engineering documentation, including specifications, drawings, and reports.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and innovation.
- Develop metrics and measure performance of engineering for internal and external customers.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a proven track record of leading projects and teams.
- Skills: Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD), strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Certifications: Professional Engineering (PE) license is preferred but not required.
- Structural Engineering Knowledge: Exposure to structural engineering practices and disciplines is a plus.
