Business Summary:
The Accounting Analyst ensures the accuracy of accounts through detailed analysis, consultation, and review, while also handling complex account reconciliations and sub-ledger operations. Primary duties include billing/invoicing, maintaining customer accounts, and performing month-end closing processes. This role involves analyzing electronic transaction requests, liaising between departments to resolve discrepancies, and maintaining compliance records for audits.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Analyzes spreadsheets and other electronic transaction requests to ensure accuracy, imports spreadsheets and electronic requests into JD Edwards (JDE.
- Perform initial review for compliance with system specifications and accounting policies and coding criteria, adjusting in file layouts to ensure successful import, and processing request through JDE levels ensuring appropriate recording of entries and output results.
- Liaises between work areas to analyze and interpret account issues to facilitate proper processing of work.
- Serves in consultative capacity to others including performance of research and detailed account analysis to help resolve and clear account issues, providing research results for reference.
- Prepares entries generated for approval ensuring transactions are properly recorded on general ledger.
- Acts as liaison between management and departments regarding questions pertaining to transactions, account information and changes, and account discrepancies.
- Collaborates with departments to resolve discrepancies and explain accounting issues and documentation.
- Performs month-end closing process including verification that all accounts are updated properly and working with other departments department to ensure timely processing of monthly close.
- Monitors assigned accounts weekly, research issues and provides documentation to department or manager for their action, notating extenuating circumstances and identifying unresolved issues.
- Research and records outstanding items on reconciliations for AAA, Inc. accounts.
- Maintains records for compliance reporting and audits.
Requirements, Competencies and Certifications:

- Ability to work independently and virtually on a specific project and collaboratively as needed.

- Proficient in standard PC applications; advanced Excel skills required.
- Thorough knowledge of financial principles related to accounts receivable and/or accounts payable.
Education & Experience:
- AA degree and a minimum of two (2) year accounting experience or High School diploma and four (4) years accounting experience.
- Experience in research and vendor analysis.
Hiring Range: $21.23 - $25.90
This position is also eligible for participation in AAA, Inc.'s Annual Incentive Plan.
