Business Summary:
This position will manage and/or perform daily administration of all benefit programs. Analyzes and proposes design of programs to ensure “best practices"" are developed and implemented. Ensures programs comply with federal and state regulations. Works with vendors, consultants, and benefit lawyers and leads annual processes such as benefits open enrollment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensures benefit programs comply with all organizational policies, as well as state and federal regulations.
- Monitor, analyze and recommend compliance actions for new and evolving benefit legislation.
- In conjunction with management and outside legal advisors, reviews and updates plan documents.
- Works with various benefit plan carriers, service providers, consultants, brokers and trustees to ensure proper administration of employee benefit plans and delivers high quality customer service.
- Interprets and applies to organization’s plans and policies.
- Tracks issue and follows up with provider to ensure prompt and satisfactory results.
- Collaborates with management, develops and implements new benefit programs. Participates in analysis, costing and development of programs.
- Conducts market analysis, completes market surveys, and assists with making recommendations to leadership on changes to ensure a contemporary and competitive benefits posture.
- Monitors the effectiveness of current programs and makes recommendations for improvements as needed.
- Understands the legal requirements and implications of laws affecting associate leave of absence benefits.
- Administers the Family Medical Leave provisions, personal leave of absence policy and Workers’ Compensation requirements.
- Develop presentation materials and lead associates’ meetings including lunch and learns, open enrollment, wellness events, business line staff meetings, and other sessions.
- Drafts initial associate communications for approval.
- Maintains awareness of trends and legislative changes affecting the plans.
- Informs and guides associates and leaders on benefits matters regarding eligibility, coverage, provisions and processes.
- Compiles and maintains benefits records and documentation.
- Manages all aspects of associate benefit programs, to include processing and verifying benefit claims, ensuring accurate billing, and resolving billing inquiries.
- Assists the pension administrator with various needs.
- Performs other related duties, tasks, requests and directives issued from management as required.

Education, Experience, & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources management or related field.
- Five (5) or more years’ experience in benefits planning and administration. CEBS strongly preferred.
Hiring Range: $67,750 - $84,010
This position is also eligible for participation in AAA, Inc.'s Annual Incentive Plan.
