What are the responsibilities and job description for the Estimator position at AAA Landscape?
The position requires an understanding of the complete bidding process of Commercial Landscape Construction Installation along with the knowledge of office procedures to implement the estimating process. The ability to understand and comprehend detailed bid requests from our clients along with an understanding of blueprints/ specifications and the ability to communicate with suppliers, sub-contractors, estimators, engineers, architects, etc. to obtain the necessary information to put together a responsive bid, as requested by the client. The ability to multi-task, maintaining productivity working under extreme pressure to meet deadlines with accuracy and efficiency along with making sure clients get the detailed information they need for a responsive bid. Extremely important to be organized.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience: 5 years Landscape Construction Estimating experience
Education: BA Degree Preferred in Green Industry or equivalent estimating experience
Language skills: Ability to read, write, communicate in English
Computer: Excel, Outlook, Word, Timberline software a plus but not required, estimating software, on-screen take-off,
COMPETENCIES:
Organize prepare pre-bid packages; secure plans, specifications, addendums, etc
Review bid specifications/blueprints/map in order to prepare bid package requirements
Oversee bid board along with bid schedules
Accurate take-off information to confirm quantities
Solicit for accurate & lowest material quotes
Maintain relations with all vendors, clients, engineers, architects, owners, etc
Willingness to assist team members as needed.
Estimatesto be reviewed by Division Manager before going out to theclient. Have any technical estimates (erosion, concrete work, turn conversions, etc) Compiled and reviewed/confirming scope with the owner.
Responsible for finding alternative savings for the company on projects bid.
Must hold a valid Arizona drivers license and clean MVR
Computer literate; excel, outlook, word, estimating software
Acquires and maintains the database on contacts, clients, vendors, suppliers
Excellent organization skills, planning, and scheduling of time
Reports to Division Manager with all other matters or Executive Director of Operations.
