What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Site-Supervisor position at AAA Landscape?
OVERVIEW: The site-supervisor coordinates the work of a crew on a specific property. Site-supervisor is primarily concerned with overseeing that their crew works skillfully and efficiently and that the assigned job progresses per schedule. They deal with the routing of material and equipment and with laying out the more difficult areas/tasks of the job. Forepersons must have a broad working knowledge of landscape maintenance and must be able to perform all the positions being supervised. Additionally, site-supervisor must run/manage the property including labor, materials, equipment, and schedule so as to consistently perform within budget. The site-supervisor must understand and utilize all resources available to them to consistently work to better the project’s projections and profitability.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience: Ability to perform all competencies of Crew Leader, Equipment Operator, irrigator and Laborer.
Language skills: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English with appropriate grammar and vocabulary. Ability to read and write English. Ability to communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking crew members.
Physical requirements: Ability to lift, pull and push up to 50-80 lbs., carry materials, bend, twist, kneel, climb, and balance. Ability to walk at a brisk pace and work in a kneeling position for extended periods of time. Ability to work in the rain and in extreme temperatures. Ability to withstand dust, pollen and gas fumes on a daily basis.
Math skills: Strong basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Must be computer literate, with a working knowledge of MS WORD, EXCEL AND OUTLOOK.
Certificates, Licenses, etc.: Must have valid Arizona driver’s license, an acceptable DMV report, and pass the AAA Landscape driving test.
Other: Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Although typical workdays are Mon-Fri, they must be able to work the occasional weekend.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Conditions may vary depending upon the time of the year and the location of the project; however, most Forepersons will manage projects out-of-doors, through all seasons.
