Summary
The Chief People Officer provides strategic leadership of AAA, Inc.’s people and culture philosophy, programs and initiatives. This role ensures alignment across recruiting, talent management, learning and development, organizational culture, employee relations, and total rewards to foster a highly engaged workforce. The Chief People Officer partners with member organizations to align messaging and initiatives on shared workforce priorities and serves as the primary liaison to the Executive Compensation Committee. This position reports directly to the CEO and serves as a strategic leader who champions a culture of inclusivity, equity, and diversity, promoting these values as key drivers of success.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Leads, strategizes, designs and executes AAA, Inc.’s people and culture philosophy, programs and initiatives. Aligns the people strategy to the business needs, operating plans, and values with a strong emphasis on inclusion and belonging as a business driver and cultural imperative.
- Acts as trusted advisor to the AAA, Inc. Executive team and AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety, providing expert guidance regarding culture, organizational design, workforce planning, and other complex people matters, while promoting inclusivity and talent management.
- Oversees total rewards strategies and compliance, including marketplace competitive compensation, benefits, executive compensation, and retirement plans, ensuring a strong employee value proposition that represents the AAA brand and results in attracting and retaining diverse top talent.
- Ensures the development of programs that enhance well-being, work-life balance, and overall employee satisfaction to boost morale and retention.
- Leverages employee feedback and HRIS /data analytics to identify trends and opportunities for workplace improvements, enhance engagement, and strengthen the employee value proposition.
- Ensures compliance and policy alignment by collaborating with the legal and finance team to develop and update policies and practices, ensuring adherence to federal and state regulations.
- Collaborates with Club People/HR leaders to share best practices and build consistent, industry-leading processes to ensure AAA is positioned as a desirable place of employment.
- Serves as the primary liaison to the Executive Compensation Committee.
- Prepares complex written documentation (e.g., funding requests, investigative reports, audit inquiries, analyses, recommendations, and procedures) and presentations as needed, including development and oversight of the departmental annual budget.
- Maintains external industry relationships to stay ahead of emerging trends and innovations, while representing the organization’s brand as an employer of choice.
- Supervises work output, performance, and conduct of two or more Associates in alignment with AAA’s ethical standards. Provides feedback, coaching, and mentorship to promote growth and development and positive work culture.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of HR management theory and practices, as well as related legal and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills, with a track record of building and leading successful HR teams.
- Proven ability to design and implement innovative HR programs and initiatives that drive employee engagement, performance, and retention.
- Demonstrated experience in creating and executing HR strategies that align with organizational goals and objectives.
- Proven success in developing and implementing initiatives that foster a culture of authenticity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
- Proven ability to build relationships, resolve conflict, influence constituents, and communicate effectively in difficult situations.
- Proven ability to partner with senior leaders and drive workforce planning and talent acquisition initiatives.
- Strong analytical and financial acumen, with experience in developing and managing budgets.
- Demonstrated success in providing strategic vision and leadership, motivating and empowering teams.
- Strong communication, consultation, collaboration, and relationship management skills.

Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's or master’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field.
- Ten (10) to fifteen (15) years of experience in human resources management, including five (5) or more years in senior human resources management leadership roles.
Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) or Society for Human Resources Management Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certifications are preferred.
Hiring Range: $200,000 to $250,000
