Lead Prepress Technician - Description and Overview
The Lead Prepress Technician is responsible for preparing digital files for the printing process, ensuring they meet quality standards, and configuration for the printing equipment to achieve optimal results.
This role involves using various software and hardware tools to ensure that designs are correctly formatted, colors are accurate, and images are sharp and clear
File Preparation : Receive digital files from designers or clients and inspect them for potential issues, such as resolution, color accuracy, and font compatibility
Make necessary adjustments to ensure the files are print-ready
Image Editing : Use graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) to retouch and enhance images, adjust colors, and make other modifications as needed
Imposition : Arrange and position pages on a printing sheet to optimize paper usage and ensure proper alignment when printed.
Qualifications
Offset and Digital Print Shop experience a plus.
Proficiency in graphic design software (e.g., Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
Familiarity with prepress software and hardware, such as imposition software and CTP systems. Fuji XMF and PressWise knowledge a plus.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Ability to communicate and work in a team environment.
Expected hours : 40 per week
