Position Summary :
Performs a range of accounting support functions including using specialized ledger and accounting software to record and process receipts, expenditures, and other financial transactions. Coordinate and manage all aspects related to general ledger accounting for all investments and to interact with the investment accounting system as well as the portfolio manager.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Enter financial data in computer system using defined computer programs.
- Update, verify, and maintain accounting journals ledgers and other financial records.
- Record investment activity into the investment accounting system, make general ledger journal entries and reconcile ledger accounts to investment fund account statements.
- Demonstrate ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments, and complete work with little direction.
- Exhibit time-management skills by developing and executing specific goals in an agreed upon timeframe.
- Continuously evaluate the current data collection and entry processes and propose enhancements to spreadsheets, protocols, and processes to boost efficiency and quality.
- Build relationships with responsive, confident communications, and attention to detail.
- Adheres to company policies and departmental procedures, as well as state and federal law.
- Complete complex account reconciliations.
- Perform advanced account analysis.
- Assist management in month end reporting.
- Assemble financial data for external audits / exams and statutory reporting.
- Assist management with budget preparation, cost analysis, and research projects.
- Maintain orderly financial filing system including but not limited to all pertinent investment fund account statements, supporting documentation, and related tax reports.
- Report any deviations from established accounting procedures or variances in handling monies to department management.
- Work on accounting projects as needed.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Education and / or Experience Requirements :
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university plus two years of work-related experience and / or training or equivalent combination of experience and education. Experience working with general ledger and investment accounting systems. Knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook software.
