City and County of Denver - Energy Code Reviewer (Engineer and / or Architect) - Community Planning and Development

Job Description / Primary Objective :
Are you a professional engineer or a registered architect with experience using, applying, and interpreting energy codes? Do you have a passion for energy conservation, sustainability, and the desire to help implement policy to reduce consumption, create a greener infrastructure, and support Denver’s goals to combat climate change? The City and County of Denver’s Community Planning and Development Department (CPD) is seeking an Energy Code Reviewer (Engineer and / or Architect) to be part of our committed team of Engineering professionals. In this role, you will serve as the subject matter expert regarding the Denver Energy Code and International Energy Conservation Code for City staff and our external customers.
Schedule : Hybrid (3 days in office per week). Monday through Friday, 8-5pm (flexible on start and end times).
Key responsibilities include :
- Reviewing and ensuring energy code design compliance for both commercial and / or residential buildings in accordance with Denver’s amended energy codes.
- Working with colleagues to update codes and policies while looking at short, medium, and long-term energy code goals.
- Collaborating across multiple trades, disciplines, and City agencies.
- Participating in the development and implementation of energy code training programs.
- Working with inspectors and contractors to participate in energy code-related observation and training.
- Other related duties as assigned.
