Position Summary
The Customer Service Department is a change of pace from the high stress hospital laboratory or overnight shift. As a Customer Support Specialist I in the Customer Service Department, you will deliver high quality service on all calls answered in the clinical queue. Requires ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Provides accurate and timely information to supporting departments, clients, and patients, adhering to laboratory procedures. Adheres to departmental policies and procedures to include departmental programs such as call quality monitors and incentive call volume.
Location: Austin, TX (100% onsite)
Shift: Monday to Friday, 8am - 5pm

Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsibilities of the positions include data entry and lab assistant duties.
- Acts as liaison between laboratory personnel and upper management.
- Maintains departmental operating policies and procedures to include departmental programs, quality control, quality assurance and safety.
- Reviews receipt of specimens receipt from all patient service centers, in-office phlebotomists and clients.
- Ensures all specimens are processed, data entered and shipped in accordance with company guidelines and meets shipment deadlines.
- Takes remedial action when indicated.
- Communicate effectively in verbal and written forms.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to cope with varied levels of workload and multiple tasks
- Ability to adapt to changing work environment. Able to type at least 35 wpm.
Required:
- Six months to one year of laboratory training or experience AND one year of Call Center and Data entry experience in a production environment
Required:
- Associate Degree or Medical Assistant training with High School Diploma
- Bachelor's Degree in a biological science or certification in a medical program technologist program
