Description
Residential Operations Responsibilities :
- Responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of the residential facility.
- Implements policies and procedures established by AABR, Inc.
- Ensures that the residential facility meets established procedures and government regulations.
- Supervises and monitors the performance of residential personnel.
- Ensures that all programmatic, fiscal and billing records are maintained as per regulatory standards, as evidenced by positive survey results and regular internal program review.
- Ensures billing data documentation is accurate and submitted timely and required Life Plans and CFAs are submitted to the Main office.
- Oversees residential personnel’s effective implementation of program plans and accurately document it in the client records.
- Identifies important issues and maintains timely communication with supervisors and other central administrators to ensure that problems are solved.
- Recognizes when a person we support is in crisis and be able to utilize the appropriate psychiatric and medical back up services and supports.
- Develops staffing schedules for Direct Support Professionals (DSP), Assistant
- Managers and Shift Supervisor staff at residence and ensure safe staffing ratios at all times and is tailored to the needs of the people we support.
- Assists in providing coverage for the residence as needed ensuring that all shifts are staffed as required. Administer Medication upon successful certification.
- Ensures residential documentation, including general, medical, personal allowance, food stamp, meets regulatory standards by monthly review of each individuals records.
- Submits reports and documentation in a timely manner.
- Works cooperatively with the facilities management department to make sure issues are corrected appropriately, economically, and in a timely fashion.
- Conducts required fire drills or other emergency drills and ensure complete documentation is filed.
- Completes and submits incident / injury reports for individuals.
- Works with Quality Assurance team to ensure documentation and services are within OPWDD guidelines.
- Oversees personal allowance for residents of the program.
- Coordinates and shop for household items and groceries.
- Maintains adequate supply of medication, and medication administration records for people receiving services.
- Coordinates recreational activities including residential vacations.
- Reports issues regarding AABR, Inc. vehicles to supervisor.
- Communicates with families, day programs, care managers, clinicians and other supports to ensure services are integrated and appropriate.
- Maintains relationships with community and neighbors.
- Ensures confidentiality with family and caregivers.
Staff Supervision & Communication :
- Conducts regular Residence administrative staff meetings with Residence
- Manager, and Shift Supervisors.
- Meet with staff on a regular basis, ensure positive coaching, mentoring and training is provided to enable Staff to reach their full potential. Ensure that performance evaluation is completed on a regular (at least quarterly) basis.
- Create a positive, collaborative environment within the residence that enables staff to communicate and work cooperatively to serve the individuals.
- Foster a spirit of teamwork and unity among staff that allows for a positive work environment, constructive conflict, appreciation of diversity and a creation of cohesiveness and support.
- Supervises Direct Support Professionals (DSP), Assistant Managers and Shift Supervisors.
- Provides hands on supervision of people with I/DD and autism including implementation of behavior goals and behavior support plans. Ensure program goals are implemented by DSP staff.
- Ensures required staff trainings are complete and up to date.
- Communicates with Human Resources regarding staff absences and resignations.
- Oversees and report employee relations issues and staff disciplinary concerns.
- Conducts bimonthly staff meetings. Ensures all pertinent AABR information is shared timely this includes: communication from administration about agency changes, information as it pertains to the people we support.
- Encourage staff to pay attention to email and other information shared with them from the agency.
- Coordinates with ADR to develop agenda for staff meetings to ensure that all issues are covered and that meetings are meaningful.
- Participates in Life Plan meetings and the development of the Staff Action Plan.
- Reports medical issues to residential nurse and Director of Clinical Services immediately.
- Maintains correspondence and communication with Nurse and AM Shift
- Supervisor to ensure appropriate medical appointments occur.
- Addresses individual’s needs by meeting regularly, coordinating with the clinical staff.
- Schedules and provides in-service training for staff covering all topics as needed.
- Completes performance evaluations timely.
- Reviews and sign off on payroll time sheets on biweekly basis. Manage use of overtime and temp use within residential budgetary guidelines.
- Participates in agency wide managers’ meetings and training sessions as directed.
Incident Management / Human Rights Responsibilities :
- Implements facility’s incident management procedures.
- Collaborates with Incident Review Committee Chair regarding investigations, problems, and concerns.
- Prepares a summary of incidents for the review committee on a monthly basis.
- Completes Incident Reports, IRC committee reports and Human Rights requests and reports within agency and regulatory time frames.
- Implements recommendations made by the Incident Review Committee.
- Tracks, files, and updates investigations as requested by the IRC Chair.
- Ensures that consumer rights are always protected by actively participating in each facility’s program planning team meetings and the agency’s Human Rights Committee.
Other Functions:
- Demonstrate respect for all people.
- Participate in training, seminars, and conferences as required.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services Field preferred or 5 years experience supporting people with intellectual / developmental disabilities in a residential setting required. 2 years supervisory experience required.
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record required.
- Clearance through state mandated Background / Fingerprint Check(s) required.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with others and individuals served.
- Excellent verbal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate, collaborate and partner cross-functionally
- Demonstrated strong problem-solving and strategic thinking skills
- Ability to safely assist lifting individuals of various weights and 20 lbs. items.

- Candidates must be or become certified in Medication Administration (AMAP),
