As the Data Quality Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in supporting organizational data management and quality assurance processes. This internship provides an opportunity to develop critical skills in data validation, basic analysis, and understanding of data governance practices. The intern will work closely with the Membership and Tech and Data teams to learn best practices in maintaining data integrity, performing entry-level data checks, and supporting key organizational data initiatives.
Workplace type: Hybrid and will be based in Tampa.

As the Data Quality Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in supporting organizational data management and quality assurance processes. This internship provides an opportunity to develop critical skills in data validation, basic analysis, and understanding of data governance practices. The intern will work closely with the Membership and Tech and Data teams to learn best practices in maintaining data integrity, performing entry-level data checks, and supporting key organizational data initiatives.

How You Will Contribute
- Data verification and basic auditing, including assisting with preliminary data quality checks, identifying inconsistencies and duplicates in databases while learning basic data validation techniques.
- Data cleaning support, including contributing to data cleaning efforts, assisting with organizing and preparing data for review, and learning techniques for maintaining data consistency and accuracy.
- Survey and data collection Support, including helping to review survey responses for basic completeness and clarity and supporting outreach efforts to clarify survey information (under guidance).
- Documentation and reporting functions, including maintaining logs of data-related tasks and observations, assisting with creating simple data visualizations or reports, and helping to update and organize data management documentation.
- Participate in discussions concerning data governance principles and their practical application to develop further proficiency.
- Currently pursuing a degree in Data Science, Information Management, Business Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field
- Sophomore, Junior, or Senior level preferred
- Basic understanding of spreadsheet software (Excel, etc.)
- Emerging analytical skills with interest in data management
- Willingness to learn database and data validation tools
- Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
- Gain practical experience in data management and quality assurance
- Develop skills in data validation and cleaning techniques
- Understand the importance of data integrity in organizational settings
- Build foundational knowledge of database management and governance
