Position Overview :
AAEI is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Public Affairs Intern to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in government affairs, content creation, event management, and marketing campaigns. The intern will assist with marketing initiatives, including social media, email campaigns, and webinars, while working closely with AAEIs Director of Marketing and Communications.
Responsibilities
- Develops and implements a variety of internal and external communications on behalf of AAEI and its members.
- Manages day-to-day digital communications efforts, including social media, website content updates, and newsletter production.
- Partners with the Marketing, Membership, and Government Affairs to develop AAEIs content calendar and creates content, as assigned.
- Manages AAEIs social media (currently LinkedIn and X), including developing strategy, researching and preparing content, engaging with and promoting member posts, and responding to comments as needed.
- Designs social media graphics, animations, and videos.
- Develops and publishes monthly member e-newsletters, including writing and editing articles and designing the newsletter in Constant Contact.
- Updates the AAEI website, including design, content development, editing, SEO, and analytics.
- Organizes, designs, and updates AAEIs marketing materials, including fact sheets, presentations, logos, photos, and videos.
- Ensures consistent branding on all AAEI content and materials.
- Preparing meetings, briefing, and presentation materials.
- Maintaining a database containing contacts for congressional staff and coalition partners.
- Assist with the preparation of events and leadership visits to Washington, D.C.
Basic Qualifications :
Interns at AAEI will work with seasoned professionals in the areas of trade compliance, communications, public affairs, government relations, legal, and member relations. Internships are 28 weeks. The hourly wage is $25.00 / hour. 30 hours a week.
