Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive analyses of tariff classifications using the Harmonized Tariff System (HTS) to assess trade policies, compliance, and economic impact.
- Support trade data analysis, including import/export trends, tariff applications, and international trade agreements.
- Develop reports and presentations summarizing tariff findings, compliance metrics, and business process recommendations for senior leadership.
- Collaborate with internal teams and federal agencies to ensure alignment of tariff-related decisions with U.S. trade policies.
- Identify opportunities to improve tariff classification processes and compliance efficiency.
- Monitor changes in global tariff regulations and provide timely updates to stakeholders.
- Analyze business processes related to trade compliance and propose innovative solutions to streamline operations.
- Assist in preparing briefing materials, reports, and policy recommendations to support executive decision-making.
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, International Business, Trade, Public Policy, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- 3-5 years of experience in business analysis, trade compliance, or tariff classification, with expertise in the Harmonized Tariff System (HTS).
- Strong understanding of U.S. trade regulations, international trade agreements, and tariff schedules.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Tableau, or Power BI) for interpreting and presenting trade data.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to process complex information and deliver actionable recommendations.
- Experience in preparing reports, briefing materials, and presentations for senior stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with government agencies, policy teams, and trade organizations.
- Ability to adapt to evolving priorities and work collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
- Prior experience in federal government trade programs, international trade compliance, or tariff analysis is highly desirable.
