Job Summary
The Onboarding Specialist assists with the hiring and onboarding of new talent.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinates and ensures completion of preemployment checks.
- Reviews questionable preemployment check results with the Talent Acquisition Manager.
- Confirms a start date with the new hire once pre-employment checks are clear.
- Keeps new hire tracking sheet updated with the status of preemployment checks and start date.
- Notifies security, IT, facilities, and leadership of new hire start date.
- Prepares for new hire orientation classes by preparing new hire information folders, coordinating snacks and lunches, and ensuring presenter availability.
- Facilitates the new hire orientation class including sharing the welcome video, introducing speakers, and reviewing HR related new hire orientation slides (excluding benefits).
- Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation, and maintains I-9 files.
- Enters new hire and rehires into the HR system.
- Enters orientation hours into the system for new hires.
- May assist with interview coordination or career events upon request.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements
- H.S. Diploma required
- Bachelors degree in human resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Understanding of I-9 requirements and E-Verify process.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
