The Membership Specialist is an organized, quick learner with an eye for detail. This role will be expected to support a wide variety of marketing initiatives, including Member Acquisition and Renewal, administering key Member Engagement and Benefits programs, and supporting Member Volunteer Committee initiatives. This work entails managing the application submission and approval process for all member groups, acquiring internal and external lead lists, supporting campaign deployment and measurement, and other internal / external communications.
This position will help support a consistent brand voice and will support all communications and programming regarding member benefits and value to new and renewing members. Ideal candidates will have experience in membership marketing and billing strategies. This individual must be able to effectively support high-visibility projects, understand general marketing principles and tools, and be a strong written and oral communicator. This person must have the ability to work with cross-functional departments within the organization, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and be able to organize and prioritize information. This position will report to the Director, Member Experience.
- Maintain daily communications with current and prospective members, both written and oral, and help drive participation towards membership goals.
- Coordinate meetings, exhibits, and direct response acquisition and retention marketing campaigns across integrated channels, including email, direct mail, social, telemarketing, and web.
- Support the definition, evolution, and reinforcement of a clear and consistent brand voice and identity for the Academy.
- Track and oversee implementation of high-priority member experience projects, including PowerBI reporting; application processing, reporting, and management; and Personify notifications.
- Produce reports for constituents and internal stakeholders on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including engagement, conversions, and ROI on marketing tactics for New Resident Enrollment and PGY-5 Transitions.
- Maintain relationships with internal departments and program partners, including Membership Operations, TDS, PMO, and MarCom, design, education, publications, and website teams.
- Represent the company at the Membership booth during the AAOS Annual Meeting and other internal events as required.
- Support execution and tracking of all communications for key audience personas, including full member journey development.
- Lead the implementation of member application process improvements, including forms, payment, weekly reporting, notifications, and communications.
- Responsible for ongoing list procurement / uploads and lead segmentation, quality control, and analytics tracking.
- Help coordinate enrollment for all residents during pre-determined acquisition periods for all partner resident institutions, as well as transitioning graduating residents into fellowship or practice. Report updates to the manager on a regular basis utilizing AMS UX dashboards and PowerBI for resident management analysis and updates.
- Coordinate and manage the administrative processes for Membership Council reviews, including organizing and tracking applications, preparing review packets for the Council and Board of Directors, following up with members for additional information, tracking certifications, and preparing and sending final voting result letters.
- Support onboarding and engagement teams to deliver a superb member experience for the newest members of the Academy.
- Obtain quotes and timelines from applicable internal and external vendors for execution of corresponding marketing projects as determined by the manager.
- Support the Director in the development of high-profile reports, presentations, and other communications to Academy leaders and executive staff.
- Supports volunteer committees, including award recognition, PowerPoint presentations, meeting planning (tent cards, Annual Meeting, etc.), Personify and JotForm updates, and other administrative tasks.

This hybrid position is based in Rosemont, Illinois and is open to applicants who are able to commute bi-weekly to this office.
