Job Summary

Prepares clear, complete and accurate working plans and detailed drawings from design templates, or from rough or detailed sketches or notes, by performing the duties and responsibilities.

Your Responsibilities Will Be

  • Organizes and maintains project-related information that includes 3D CAD models, CAD drawings, material lists and related documentation
  • Determines completeness of project related information and request information when necessary
  • Works closely with Sales, Project Engineering and Project Management to ensure all designs are per project specifications and schedule
  • Prepares drawings required for Customer approval, material procurement and for fabrication.
  • Reviews drawings of peers to assure accuracy and best design practices
  • Assists the Engineering team in issuing project documents to the customer and fabricators

Required Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in computer Aided Design or related degree
  • Two (2) years minimum of related engineering experience .
  • Site visits to gather dimensions for design objectives is required at times. Estimated to be no more than 10% of working hours.
  • Experience designing industrial equipment such as pump skids, ductwork, fired equipment and exhaust gas equipment
  • Experience with 3D modeling
  • Ability to calculate lengths, distances, angles, areas, volumes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Autodesk ® Inventor design software
  • Experience with industrial process piping
  • Knowledge of butt weld, socket weld and threaded piping systems
  • Working knowledge of P&ID development and evaluation

Knowledge

  • Administration and Management — Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Customer and Personal Service — Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Engineering and Technology — Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.
  • English Language — Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
  • Computers (non-technical) — Knowledge of software, including applications and programming.

ADA Requirements

Positions in this function typically require typing, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.

  • Concentrated mental and/or visual attention. The work involves performing complex tasks to very close accuracy and quality specifications, or a high degree of hand and eye coordination for sustained periods.
  • The job is typically performed under comfortable working conditions; any disagreeable elements are generally absent during normal performance of job.
  • Compliance with company attendance standards.

Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
