Responsibilities
Manages all aspects of large and complex projects that align with the strategic priorities of the organization. Oversees all aspects of project management including project charter development, project scope development, project schedules, project costs, deliverable quality, human and material resource management, risk management, procurement, communications, and stakeholder engagement. Updates and maintains associated project management processes, including creating and implementing work plans, and helps to develop and implement new and evolving business processes. Manages financial and procurement elements of projects, to include collaboration with and management of vendor Master Services Agreements and / or Statements of Work as necessary. Reports on the status of projects to senior management to convey all elements of project status and the impact and results of work. Oversees the execution of administrative tasks as necessary, such as calendaring, organizing meetings, processing expense reimbursements, maintaining contact lists, and assisting with travel arrangements. Leads operational and / or logistical support for AARP programs and / or services. Qualifications Bachelor's degree and over 10 years of experience managing large and complex projects while aligning them with the strategic priorities of the organization. Demonstrated success in leading all aspects of project management, including developing project charters, identifying stakeholders from technical and business teams, and creating transparent project workspaces. Proven ability to manage project schedules, orchestrate stakeholder teams, define project scope, determine timelines (including sequencing and dependencies), assess risks, and mitigate issues effectively. Skilled in identifying technology gaps that could potentially derail project timelines and outcomes. Expertise in improving project management processes through retrospectives and the establishment of best practices for continuous improvement. Proficient in reporting on project management status to diverse audiences, ensuring clear communication of project progress and challenges.
