What are the responsibilities and job description for the Investment Analyst position at AARP?
Responsibilities
Prepare investment materials for Investment Committee members, Board members, and internal / external stakeholders. Manage our CRM workflow and data storage process by monitoring and updating data to the system. This includes filing all our funds’ quarterly reports, letters from managers, fee schedules, etc. Also includes retrieving all files from our alternative asset managers’ data rooms and storing on the Dynamo system. Assist with investment operations and performance reporting. Duties include rebalancing investment portfolios monthly to ensure compliance with investment policies and assisting in the review and movements of cash to cover capital calls, portfolio rebalancing and expense payments. Work with our fund managers to obtain Schedule K-1s from our alternative asset funds to be used by the AARP tax department. Act as a liaison between the investment team and external consultants in order to prepare monthly and quarterly hedge fund and private equity data feeds needed by our consultants. Conduct research on trending topics by gathering and summarizing data, writing whitepapers, performing risk / return analyst on prospective funds, etc. Assist in due diligence by preparing relevant reports in advance of investment manager meetings. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline with 2 years of relevant professional experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience related to the position's duties. Expert in Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, as well as with internal and external stakeholders. Attention to detail, ability to work both independently and collaboratively, self-motivated problem solver, with strengths in planning, monitoring, organizing resources, and flexibility in meeting changing priorities. Experience in Project management and cross-functional collaboration. AARP will not sponsor an employment visa for this position at this time.
